We were one of the teams that was fortunate enough to test the cast BW S400 72mm. This turbo was used on Paul Protacio's SFWD car "Black Lavender".  We received the turbo in September of 2012 and used it at two events for Fall Nationals at Raceway Park NJ on October 2012 and World Cup Finals at MIR on November 2012.  We will be using the same turbo on the new build.

"Black Lavender" ran consistent low 9's at over 170+MPH with this 72mm S400 BorgWarner Turbo!

BW 72mm SFWD Class Limit Turbo

Straight from the BorgWarner Turbo Systems Lab, this 72mm S400SX is a highly anticipated release for 2013. Specifically engineered to deliver maximum performance and fastest response in 72mm compressor wheel limited Sport Compact FWD drag racing classes such as the BorgWarner/OGS SFWD Triple Crown, HondaDay, MIR, NSCRA, IFO and others.

This very unique turbo flows over 100lb/min and utilizes BW's ultra-high-efficiency 87mm turbine wheel paired to their brand-new never before seen 72mm compressor wheel and "race cover" compressor housing to help competitive racers make >1000+whp and reach 170+mph trap speeds. Borg Warner's engineers pushed to offer this turbo in both billet compressor (FMW = forged milled wheel) OR cast compressor wheels - there is no difference in performance between them, but the cast compressor can allow racers to take advantage of the additional 100lbs in the rulebook (where applicable).

  • T4 divided footprint turbine housings, available in 1.25 A/R with 4" V-band downpipe connection, recommended for SFWD Drag racing
